I have a sliding table that goes over my bed. I have my computer on it. A few books. Water. It’s not an office chair I sit on. So this light sheet of vinyl over carpet does the job fine. I don’t recommend it for putting a daily office chair over it as that won’t hold up.

I consider my office carpet to be low pile but the chairmat is soft enough that the wheels sink into it. This is probably the case for any chairmat at this price point.
