I purchased this mat as a Christmas gift for my husband. It is perfect for his L-shape desk. The deciding factor in this choice was that it stated it was packaged in a tube for delivery. I needed something I could easily wrap and a tube was perfect. I was so disappointed to have it delivered flat with no protective wrap let alone in a tube. It was too heavy to easily move and with the studs it was painful to manipulate. I was able to roll it in a large tube shape and held it together with a couple of belts. Luckily I had a box that was almost tall enough for it to fit in. He is happy with the mat and I managed to wrap it well enough so he was surprised.

I would have defined my carpets as low pile however when using the mat my office chair on rollers sinks into the mat/carpet so I cannot easily move if when I need to move my chair. I'll most likely put a piece of cardboard between the mat and carpet and see if this helps. Other than that I do like the mat as it is perfectly square my chair would roll off the edges of my previous T shaped mat and this mat doesn't have the super sharp plastic prongs for digging into the carpet but can also scratch the hell out of your legs and puncture a toe while moving. Would be a five star product if it worked on my carpet type.

This item was described as appropriate for pile carpet meaning it won't slide or move easily such as when you.move a chair. That's not the case. I also have divots in the surface making it more difficult to move while in a wheeled office chair. I'll have to buy a new one when I can go into the store & examine it myself.

Although this mat works like it should & serves its purpose. the packing tape that the store chose to roll it up with for shipping -- created a sticky mess that will take me hours to remove with goo gone or some other substance. Would have been better if I bought it directly at the store instead of having it delivered.

After trying to move rolling chair around on a carpet this chairmat is a big improvement. Because there is not a lip on the edge it is very easy to roll back onto the mat if a wheel goes off. Small indentations from the wheels do occur where the chair sits most of the time when I am working but they do not cause any problem when moving the chair around on the mat. I would not hesitate to purchase this product again if I needed another one.
