The mat for medium-pile is just what the description says about it. I like that it is clear so you can still appreciate the carpet below.

Finally a mat that does not break or crack on plush carpet. A truly wonderful product after all the ones we bought before that were inadequate and disappointing. Also way cheaper than the ones from [@]

The last chair mat I owned buckled along the edge which made it dangerous because it was easy to trip over it. I don't believe this one will do that. so far I love it! It looks much nicer than my old one has a cleaner look. I gave it five stars because honestly value for price--it doesn't get any better.

The size is a perfect fit. However I don't know how they are rated for carpet thickness. This mat was rated for 'medium-pile' and I thought it would be extra heavy to use on my 'low-pile' carpet. It was not. Though rolling is easier it does dent if I sit in one position for for a minute or two also because it is so flexible even with the cleats the mat creeps. I'm concerned that the constant flexing will cause premature cracking.
