No more holes in the carpet

Since I wore a hole in our old carpet I decided with new carpet a chair mat was a good idea. I would have preferred a heavier mat but didn't want to spend more money. This one will save the carpet but I've already made dents in it where I usually sit which means when I move the chair it wants to fall back into place. I'm still happy I bought this one as this is a problem I can deal with better than hole-y carpet!

Inexpensive but tough to roll out even after letting it rest for days after delivery

This is an inexpensive mat. It has a lip and tiny spikes for carpet. It comes rolled up in a box. Directions say to let it be inside and warm up to room temp for a few days. I did that. Even after that it was somewhat difficult to unroll it and lay it flat. It still has some memory where it's not completely flat.

It is a pretty flimsy chair mat for the price. Just putting my desk chair on it and it dimpled before I even sat down in the chair. Needless to say you can’t roll around on it very easily.

The carpet mat is too soft and the wheels of the chair are sinking on it making kind of tracks.

Smooth roller

This mat is much thicker than my previous mat. Should hold up much longer. I was concerned about the "lip" but it is not as pronounced as I had expected. I like the extrusions on the bottom which hold the mat in place; they are less sharp than my old mat. My chair rolls well on the mat. I am very satisfied.
