The title is a bit tongue in cheek. However I found the vinyl material to be ill-suited for my needs with my low-medium pile carpet. Because it's not a firm material my chair is constantly sinking into the vinyl and becoming stuck in these wheel sized ruts. This makes it no easier to roll than when I was not using the chair mat. I can't recommend this for anyone who isn't using a low-pile carpet material.

It Does the Job

This is the second one I'm purchasing as the first one still in use but with another chair is still doing its job. The reason I am purchasing the second one is the one it's replacing doesn't grip the carpet and thus moves around. That makes it difficult to use and cumbersome when trying to put it back in place. The one I'm buying stays in place and allows me to move my chair effortlessly. Its weight is sufficient to hold my rolling office chair and the surface of the carpet mat allows the chair to move easily. This mat protects my carpet and because it's clear it doesn't interfere with my decor. In fact it's hardly noticeable. The price point is good. I think I'm getting good value for my investment.

Works great but has initial odor

Overall a great product - makes rolling the task chair almost effortless. Love the design of the cleat bars underneath which keep the mat in place but don't puncture your skin when you try to move it. The ramps on the edge also work beautifully for times when you need to move the chair elsewhere in the room. It was not a problem for me but the mat did have a rather strong plastic smell when first delivered. The smell disapates in a day or so - those with sensitive noses might want to let it air out in another room before installing it in their desk area. Overall superior to the name-brand mat it replaced.
