Not stout enough for me.

Isn't going to work for me. I need a "solid" chair mat. This one is hard to roll on as the wheels create depressions. I don't blame the mat as I'm 6'3 and weight 275. If your averaged size you might have better luck. I'll probably have to make something myself. Price was right so I gave it a shot.

Quite a bit thicker and stiffer than the standard chairmats and I expect being stiffer it will flex less and wear better over time. The thin standard thickness mats flex so much that they soon crack in the center and then need to be replaced. This was the thickest mat of this shape and size I could find and well worth the slight additional cost.

We have a pretty thick pile carpet in the room where my desk is. I spend a fair amount of time in front of the computer. Like any plastic mat this one does develop dents from the chair wheels over time. I turn the chair base every day or two to help change the pressure points on the mat. This mat seems to be better than the previous one I bought. It has been slower to develop the dents. The mat itself is fine and helps the chair move more easily than rolling on the carpet. Despite the slight dents in the mat the carpet underneath shows no signs of imprints from the chair wheels. I will purchase this item again in the future when this one ages out.

Its about 40% better than the up too 1/2" pile rug mat but I still sink into it. And I way 170 Lbs.

not really for high pile carpet

mat is not thick enough for high pile carpet. uneven rolling surface and chair wheels sink into mat. do not expect a long life on this.

It's okay but needs to be thicker. It is just acceptable on a medium pile carpet but would never work on a high pile carpet as it is advertised.
