does a great job protecting carpet

This mat is quite thick and is great at protecting our carpet. We have tried mats available off the shelf and those were relatively thin resulting in carpet damage. The casters on the office chair would sink making rolling a challenge. This mat is much heavier and is better at holding its shape.

This expensive high pile mat does not stay in place. In fact the "teeth" seem to be the same size as the mat we were replacing.

High Pile Carpet Mat

Holds on to the carpet and does not slip. Chair rolls effortlessly and looks good in my home office. Only problem was that the mat was delivered coated in sooty dust. I had to scrub before I would place on new light color carpet.

It's inadequate

It is not rigid. It gets indentations where the chair castors are and over time they get worse because the chair castors will tend to end up in those indentations repeatedly. I will be returning this item if I can find a better one. I never had this problem with my old chair pad which came from Staples.

My carpet is not what I would consider high pile but I bought this mat due to full days sitting and I’m a bigger guy. The mat does hold up to a point but I still sink and leave impressions. This does make it difficult to move the chair. Even if it’s been only minutes. I wish they would just make a heavy duty for large people mat. When it was delivered it was not in a box or anything. The shipping tag was stuck to the mat and it was laid down outside my door. I would recommend this as a mat for anyone up to 250-275 but my 300lbs is pushing the limit.
