I bought this because it was meant for medium one carpet which is exactly what I have. While it is better than some mattress I have found that it is still thin and as a result the chair creates 'dents' after just an hour of sitting that prevent the chair rolling. I'm only 160 lbs so I didn't expect that to be a problem. It does seem to recover so the divots aren't permanent but can be frustrating if you need to move your chair frequently. But it IS better than anything sold for low pile carpets - just don't expect perfection

I replaced a 35 year old mat that was stiff and brittle and cracked. This new mat is supposedly designed for medium pile carpeting but my chair wheels sink in so bad I have a hard time pushing away from my desk. I'm 5' 11" 180 lbs. I certainly shouldn't be exceeding any weight limits on this mat. If my old mat didn't have cracks and holes I would send this one back.

Works fine. Was concerned if the thickness would be sufficient to support a rolling chair. It is a sturdy solid mat that works great for a rolling chair on a carpeted area. Would recommend and buy it again.

Great mat for low pile carpet and heavy set person

I have low pile carpet with plans to switch to medium pile carpet in the near future. According to the product details this should be ok with either. I'm a heavy-set person and this mat holds up well. I get indentations on the mat from when I'm sitting in my chair but they disappear after a short period of time so I don't think there will be any long-term issues with that. Also it was delivered flat which was great. Didn't have to deal with unrolling it and waiting for it to flatten out. Was able to pull the stickers/tags off of it and use it immediately.

I get a few slight impressions in the surface from my chair (I’m 200+ lbs) but they do not impede my chair's ability to roll anywhere on the mat.

I like that it doesn't have a lip or the sharp pointy spikes like my old chairmat but this one is not thick enough. My carpet is on the thicker side this mat's 3/4" carpet rating and the wheels of my chair constantly sink into the mat leaving indents that make it harder to roll around.

Staples 45" x 53'' Rectangle Chair Mat for Medium Pile Carpet. I rated this product 5 stars because I found it's made of excellent material that holds up fine rolling easily under my body weight of 230lbs leaving no roller indention's and ordering for medium pile not low pile is one of the reasons. The rectangle size was easy to install and the spike bottoms gripped just fine and kept it from sliding. It has an excellent look and appearance. Also Staples gave me an excellent buying incentive.
