When you chair stays in one place for any length of time it creates grooves where the wheels are. So it's just as hard to get out of those groves as it is rolling your chair along the carpet that the mat is on top of.

Used it on thicker carpet and it is a little flimsy for it. But it says "for commercial and low-pile carpet".

This mat was to replace an older similar mat that had cracked with age. The new mat does not lie flat it wants to "walk" (move) on the carpet with every roll of the desk chair. The current carpet (rug) is thicker than the previous one so that may be part of the problem.

Yes it is a little thin and my chair rollers have made imprints. However it is very easy to roll on and my chair knows where I like to sit because of the imprints.

Great Home Office Mat

I recently set up my home office and since it is set up in a room with carpeting with a medium pile I needed a mat deparately The mat is working well - my chair rolls easily and the mat is pretty translucent so it blends in very well. A great value too!!
