Mat ruined by packager who used cheap tape excessively that left sticky residue

I ordered for pick up in local Staples and when I took off the tape that wrapped it (that took 40 minutes) there was a sticky residue (from tape) that I cannot get off. Every time my foot touches it it make a loud "peeling" noise as I step off the mat thanks to the sticky residue. In no time I am sure dust and other particles will adhere to the glue like surface and quickly ruin this other good product. Shame on Staples and their packager for using so much cheap tape around the product thus creating a sticky surface that is annoying and likely to destroy the product.

As a person with a home office I did not want to spend [$] on a mat to protect the brand new Stainmaster carpet but I DID want something on which to better move my office chair. The mat is flimsy dents easily and is clearly thinner. I wish I had waited and gotten a nicer quality at Costco.
