Chair Mat Stays Put

The mat was easier than I expected to unroll and lay out flat. I needed gloves however to keep from hurting my hands on the spikes. The mat looks good and protects the carpet well. However the plastic material is quite soft and the chair does not roll easily on it. The wheels simly press the mat down into the carpet. Part of the problem may be that my carpet is too plush for this type of mat. I have a couple of hard plexiglass carpet pads which work fine for rolling but they slide around on the carpet. I thought your mat with its built-in plastic spikes would solve the sliding problem and it does. However the material is a little too soft at least for my carpet and I would prefer a harder material (but not as hard and slick as plexiglas). Maybe you'll come up with one in the future.

I find that this mat isn't nearly as good as the one that we bought about 8 years ago at Staples. It isn't as sturdy as my previous one. It is a lot thinner and leaves chair indentations when I use it. It is a disappointment the only reason I changed is because the other one had worn out really wish this one was as good as the last one. I would rather have paid more and gotten better quality. I did check all the ones they had out but none seemed to be as sturdy as my last one. Wishing in the future that they will carry a mat that is made better than the one I purchased.

For years couldn't talk my wife into using a chair mat and I smiled each time she labored to move her chair around at her desk. Recently we moved her office to a different location and I bought this low-priced good quality chair mat and put it at her desk. She rolls beautifully and thanks me profusely. Good construction with just enough flexibility. Not too thick and she can still see the carpet!

Not really difficult to set up. But I had to trim it slightly to fit under my very old desk in my den. And not only would I buy this again -- I did. I replaced a worn out mat that worked quite well for many years.I got that mat at Staples too.
