The Staples Flat Pile Carpet Chair Mat with Lip is what we were looking for. It is easy to handle without getting spiked all over with the sharpe cleats of the other pile mats. Our chairs roll over them easily and they look good on the carpet. 5 Stars.

Honestly its plastic and a chair sits on it. The true test will come after 6 months. If it can keep its flexibility and not crack and become brittle then it will be the best floor mat ever.

It's Strictly Economy

I purchased this to see what impact it would have under my desk chair. It clearly turned out to be a cheap intermim step to a custom wood mat with significantly greater thickness and durability. This unit is economy rated; the chair does leave dents in the mat after any prolonged position of the chair.
