It is made for very thin carpet. While rolling over with an office chair the mat moves; after it has moves three inches I have to reposition it. The reason it moves: the protruding fingers on the back-side are way too short and not pointed enough to grip into normal carpeting.

Mat Okay BUT Cleats Breaking Off

This is a decent chair mat and is doing its job but there are already dents in the mat and cleats underneath that have broken off. It would help to know if there is a weight range for chair mats. I would have paid a bit more for a mat that is made for plus size customers.[...]
For the cost this chair pad is fine. The only drawback is that the pad is pliable so when weight from chair legs is applied the pad develops indentations from the 'chair + person' weight. The indentations make it more difficult to move a rolling chair across the pad surface. Still this is a good pad for the price.
I purchased the carpet chair mat for my small desk and make shift office area at home during the corona pandemic. It is great in side and heavy duty enough that my chair doesn’t sink into it and slide effortlessly.
This is the second one of these we have purchased from Staples. They both start out well but the first one started to crack and actually splintered to the point where it was a hazard for getting one's foot stabbed. Hopefully that issue has been eliminated or at least improved upon.
