Chair Mat seems ‘one size’ smaller than I measured out at my desk. I’m 275 lbs and the wheels on chair do sink into the mat after working at desk for a few hours so need to stand in order to reposition chair. I am skeptical if the mat will prevent wear and tear on the carpet. This mat is thin plastic but durable. Hard rubber thicker ‘gym’ mat may be better for me. Price makes purchase worth a try.
Beware when ordering this. I have black tar on the bottom of it that I am afraid will get on my carpet so I had to put a piece of cardboard over it. Also it comes in a heap that you can't get straighten out. I have a big ripple right in the middle of it. Very disappointed in Staples that they don't roll the carpet mat up so this don't happen. This is a quite expensive item to be delivered in that condition.
This mat was to replace an older similar mat that had cracked with age. The new mat does not lie flat it wants to "walk" (move) on the carpet with every roll of the desk chair. The current carpet (rug) is thicker than the previous one so that may be part of the problem.
This was exactly what I needed to replace one that was completely falling apart. My chair moves very well on it and I would recommend it for anyone who is looking.
This is a bit flimsy and doesn’t hold up well with rolling chairs. I find that as I roll I get resistance from the mat. This mat also moves often and I find I have to readjust it. It works pretty well with regular chairs.
