Expected better from medium pile carpet mat

Quality of the mat seems good it’s just not as hard a surface as I expected for a medium pile carpet mat. Because the mat is thicker than the one I owned previously the divots created by my chair are very deep as I’m working throughout the day and it becomes impossible to stay out of them. If I try to reposition my chair I just roll back into the divots. My old mat had divots as well but it was easier to avoid them with the thinner mat. Also the surface of this mat is extremely slippery so if you are in socks which I am some times because I work from home you need to be extra careful when walking on it. Overall I don’t think the pile of the carpet is the issue-I just think it is the softness of the material that is an issue. It does not slide around on my carpet as much as my last mat so I’m not constantly repositioning the mat but the divots are much worse with this one.

This chair pad sits on very short pile carpet over this heavy duty pad so it will not last as long as one which is made to go on a hard surface floor. That said it is thicker and heavier duty than others I've had in the past. It was rather costly but I think I will get my money's worth.
