good product. did not have this item in the store. ordered at the store and had it delivered . good service to have there. the best part it was delayed by 1 day they called to let me know it would come the next day. it did.
This is my 3rd time with this carpet chair mat in my home office. With a carpeted floor they are a necessity. They do a fine job protecting the carpet (can keep it clean and new looking underneath) and allow my chair to roll. The down side is that they wear in a relatively short time i.e. they deform under the weight of the wheels and split apart where the weight force is pushing down on them at first just a little and then a lot of sharp plastic splits. Also they are overpriced with seldom any type of sale.
I bought this mat to replace one which had served for more than 6 years of hard use. The new mat appears to be very sturdy and being clear doesn't contrast strongly with the underlying carpet. The chair rolls smoothly on the mat and I expect that the carpet will continue in good condition through the life cycle of the mat. The mat was on sale and there was a good selection from which to choose. The price on sale was very reasonable and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to preserve a carpet under or around a desk.
The only "down" side to this chair mat is I feel it is a bit thin in construction. Chair wheels still make carpet dents but they aren't as bad as without the mat
I brought this item two years ago. It has protected the rug from the repeated rolling of the desk chair. I weighed at that time over 300lbs and used my chair at my computer desk three hundred and twenty five days of the year. It did initially break and continued to break apart about two months before I replaced it. What I am doing is every time I vacuum moving the position of the mat so that I my desk chair wheels are not constantly rolling over the same area. I would fully recommend this product to anyone.
this chair mat is eight inches smaller than the one we had before it. . the gauge of the plastic is thinner and wheels tend to get stuck. maybe if we each lost 5o pounds it would hold the chair wheels up on the top of it instead of sinking into the carpet. a better deal would have been to buy the mat that was $20 more expensive than this one.
