Odor issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Scotch-Brute products for many years, and have come to trust the brand to consistently offer high-quality, reliable products that perform well. I have purchased 4 of these sponges, and in each, the following was consistent among each of the 4.
Upon opening the packages, there was a strong, distinct odor of mildew coming from the sponges. After rinsing the sponges in hot,soapy water, the odor was lessened significantly.
After using the sponge for normal washing of dishes (non-stick pans, utensils, etc. ) I always rinse my sponges in hot,soapy water and place the sponge in a sponge holder which circulates air around the sponge as it dries.
After only 2 days of regular usage, the sponge smelled awful. It smelled like mildew , only worse.
I tried cleaning the sponge, as I usually do, to no avail.
I then used the other 3 sponges, but the results were the same; mildew odor right out of the package,and rapid worsening until I had no choice but to dispose of them.
I still believe that Scotch-Brite products are of excellent value and quality. I just feel it is imperative that companies know when their products don't live up to the high standards we consumers have come to expect.

Scotch-Brite (non-scratch) Scrub Sponges-blue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Scotch-Brite (non-scratch) Blue Scrub Sponges for more than 10 years. I recently purchased a 9 pack from my local retailer. Up until this recent purchase, I was completely satisfied with the product. As soon as I put the new sponge in my hand I knew immediately it was not of the same quality I was accustomed to. The new sponge has lower density and is more flimsy in my hand than the older sponge. I even had my husband compare the the new sponge with the older sponge. He also agreed the newer sponge felt less dense and more flimsy. I am not satisfied with the changes made to the product.

Disappointed

I have been using these sponges for years and have been very satisfied. The last few packs I have bought, however, do not meet the quality standards that I have been used to with this product. The scrubbing side works well and is durable. The sponge side, however, begins to disintegrate after a few uses. Small portions of the sponge begin to break off, leaving small blue sponge scraps in the sink.
I have switched to another brand and am not having that problem.

Scotch-Brite makes the sponge for my cookware!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have tried every non-stick cookware friendly sponge out there and the only one that works without major effort and protects my cookware at the same time has been the Scotch-Brite brand, I won't use anything else. If you have cookware you love or spent a pretty penny on, use this Scotch-Brite non-stick cookware sponge to clean it and as long as your kids keep the metal spoons out, your cookware will last longer!
I clean for a living and all my sponges, brushes, and scrubbers are Scotch-Brite brand, they last longer and work harder like me. With Scotch-Brite I don't need to use as much "elbow-grease". Scotch-Brite makes my job and life much easier!

Great Sponge
