As president of the local Sons of the American Revolution chapter I recently mailed 70 Eagle Scout Certificates that we awarded. A fraction of an ounce reduction in weight would have reduced the mailing cost by $0.17 each. The medal security clip appears to be unnecessary if the envelope is adhesively sealed. A better sealing design would eliminate this clip and the need to wet the adhesive by using the "peel and stick" technology.

They're a good product for the price. The only con I have with them is most of the time they don't seal and I have to apply tape.I have used these for mailing my crochet crafts and they do hold a lot without tearing. A good product!
