The envelopes were purchased for mailing information packets for which they work fantastic - the adhesive is not used so I cannot speak to the effectiveness of it. They are sturdy and well worth the investment. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable product that performs the basic function for which it was constructed. Office use or personal should not make a significant difference in the effectiveness. The metal clasp was sturdy and easily reusable. The only reason I did not go five stars is because I do not know whether the adhesive works due to not using that element of the envelope.

Just the thing for my Tax business.

Every year I order these envelopes from Staples to use in my TAX preparation business. They are strong enough to hold all my customers receipts and other misc documents for safe storage. While you need to keep your documents for at least seven years this item needs to be durable. It is easy to store an envelope full of documents that not only seals but also has a clasp on it. I label each envelope with my phone number for next years return customer's use. No lost documents and no lost customers. Way to go!

I use these to hold all tax documents for my clients. They keep these envelopes for at least seven years and the quality of the envelope lasts. Frequently the will come back year after year bringing the old envelope with them. They have not ripped or the seals have not opened. This is the thirty-third year that I have used this type of envelope which is a testimony to their quality. I would strongly recommend this product to any business interested in a great quality product at a reasonable price.
