The mat is perfect for thick pile carpet. Must be careful though as the chair rolls so easily that it may roll off on to carpet turning over. Another warning the smell can be pretty strong.

Mat came with curled up edges a week later they're still curled. Also if you sit in one spot too long the chsir casters leave an indent in the mat.

The plastic mat helps to make my rolling desk chair glide more easily on the carpet. However a thin sheet of laminate or even thin plywood would be so much better. The mat is certainly better than having nothing.
