The plastic is not very thick so there are indents from the chairs wheels. otherwise it makes it easier to roll around. also protects carpet it was nice to have a choice of sizes. Store manager wrapper it in a roll so it was easy to carry.
Rather than going for a more expensive mat I went with this one. After about 3 days of work I have indentations where the chair sits most of the time. Now it seems to always gravitate to those indentations which eventually will probably go right through the plastic. Don't recommend.
Product was not wrapped in any brown paper just rolled and it got a little scuffed up in shipping. Also the shipping “envelope” - the clear stick-on that held the packing slip was applied directly to the product and it required a fair bit of “goof-off” solvent to remove it (which I had to go out and buy). Would have been a 5 if not for the shipping.
I was very surprised at how well this online purchase went. Everything arrived super fast. So far the mat has exceeded my expectations in quality it's durability remains to be seen. Definitely recommend Staples as a great source for online shopping during this pandemic.
The mat is advertised for high pile carpet. It is really not up to the task. It is the same thickness as my previous mat but it does dent under my chair wheels. Dents are not bad but my previous mat was rock solid and never dented. This might be a material thing in that this mat is vinyl. I believe my previous mat was polycarbonate which is harder. I say that this is a good mat for the money because I priced commercial mats that for high pile and they are about twice the price. One brand was only about 50% more but the shipping was about the same as the mat price. The mat works and my chair does not get stuck in the dents. The dents seem to "heal" and not leave permanent dents. The mat does walk a bit on the carpet so every few days I have to reposition it. But this is a home office and not a home working office so not a big deal. Hence my title as good mat for the money and in my case for the intended purpose. If you are going to be on this mat 8 hours a day 5 days as week you'd be better served by buying a thicker commercial grade mat.
