The mat is so thin and soft as opposed to firm and solid it was a waste of money. My chair sinks into it and then becomes difficult to roll. I will try to return it.
This is a good general-purpose chair mat. I needed to trim the tongue in order to fit it into the opening in my desk but that was a fairly easy modification. It's not as thick and heavy-duty as mats I've used in professional office settings but a thicker mat would not have been as easy to trim. I'm very happy with it.
This is very soft and floppy. My chair sinks and makes it very hard to move. Every day at least twice I have to scoot my chair back and reposition the mat it moves around a lot. I have over the years had multiple mats from Staples for the two desks but this by far is the worst. I am using it on low pile carpet. I guess it would be ok on tile or linoleum.
The mat is too soft for carpets even though it's supposed to be for high pile carpets. Even empty a chair will form divots in the soft plastic that are difficult to roll out of.
