It's not thick enough for the medium-pile carpet. The wheels leave quite a dent on the mat.

The cleats are much safer than the old style but they don't grip as well. I don't think my carpet is particularly thick.

This chair mat is too thin and not up to daily use. I went to Staples to buy a sturdy mat for daily use. Inventory said it was in stock but it wasn't even with checking the back room. So I bought this mat. Getting it to my office and using it for a couple days made it clear the purchase was a mistake.
