Not very effective.

After just a few days of use in my home my 5 desk chair wheels are leaving very visible imprints in the plastic mat (I weight well under 200 pounds). This time I specifically bought the thicker and more expensive mat hoping it would perform better and last longer; but I doubt it will last longer than the thin mat which only made it for a couple of years before cracking through.

This clear mat was a great improvement over the old one I replaced. Within hours of placing it on the carpet the bowing from shipping had flattened out. It's very clean and shiny looking.
