Matt is too thin period. Chair wheels dig deep into the matt/carpet. Much different than the smooth glide of my previous matt (worn out after 10-yrs). I guess it provides carpet protection but it's definitely not a "smooth glide". I don't recommend buying.

We put it on carpet in our home office and it works for us.

I use this mat over carpet and under my castered chair in my home office…daily use but intermittent. I recommend it for residential lightweight use; not for office daily use.

It seems heavy duty so far. I like the larger size.
