I consider my office carpet to be low pile but the chairmat is soft enough that the wheels sink into it. This is probably the case for any chairmat at this price point.

This product has worked well for me so far. The only thing that was unusual was that the mat was not boxed for delivery (it just had a sticker with the shipping info) but in the end it still arrived in new condition.

The overall feel & integrity of the chair mat is good but it "indents" wherever the chairs rests and is harder to roll. Otherwise it remains flat which is what I was looking for. The previous one i purchased was thinner and did not indent but it lifted & was a tripping hazard. This is NOT a tripping hazard.
