Very good so far however if it is like previous mats it will start cracking after the first year and need replacement. Thought these were limited guaranteed?

Protecting new laminate floors is a snap

My local Staples store did not have the 36" x 48" hard floor chair mat by Rubbermaid in stock but were most helpful in ordering it for me. The order was placed on Friday afternoon and arrived via UPS on Monday. I unpacked it put it in place and put some heavy books on top of it to help get the it to lay flat. Within less than an hour it had conformed to the floor and was ready for me and my chair. Since we had just spent money installing beautiful new wood floors in my home office I wanted something that would offer protection but still let me see the wood. It works great.

Wonderful Chair Mat!

These chair mats will withstand the stampeding of rhinos. Well maybe. But they definitely endure perpetual rough usage by our employees. Our company only buys this brand of chair mat and they last for years. The only reason we bought this one is because the one it replaced was 8 years old. It's great only for carpeted flooring the spikes underneath grip the ground firmly ensuring that it never moves. After 5 years of use my own personal chair mat is starting to curl up on one of the edges and I've stubbed my shoe and tripped on it a few times. But after 5 years I still can't complain because this thing doesn't even have a crack in it! Wonderful.

Couldn't be worse

The plastic is too flexible and even on a short berber carpet the chair sinks in. This totally defeats the purpose of having a mat in the first place. I recommend this only for commercial grade carpets. Ive had this mat for less than a week and hope to return it for a pricier model but one that does the intended job.

Hard Floor Chair Mat

We had been pricing mats for our den because we just had the floors refinished and when we saw this one for the price we ordered it and it is exactly what we wanted. It fit according to the dimensions we needed and it allows our computer chair to move freely and without falling off the mat. We were very pleased that it came as promised after our order was excepted and that it was delivered by UPS which made it simple to leave our acceptance on the door so that when were not home the driver could still leave the package for us.

Mat not too strong

We needed a new plastic mat under the desk in our front room. Staples sent a coupon so we decided to use it for the mat. The plastic mat is the correct size but is a little bumpy under the desk. It sits on top of a rug and the chair sometimes has a problem sliding over the bumps in the mat. the last mat developed a crack in it and I hope this one is stronger. I am slightly worried because it already is bumpy. A plastic desk chair on casters has to glide over the mat. Maybe we should have purchased a thicker mat.

These newer mats are made of lighter weight material. Yes you can see through them but your chair wheels sink into the mat creating a divot. It's not very easy to roll your chair around once that happens.
