bring back the quality

and please make a much larger size Dobie pad as well, with a scrub handle specially for cleaning shower/floor tiling to rid the nasty soap scum. Thanks

Dobie Sponges Quality Deterioration

I have been using Dobie sponges for many years. However, recently they have not been holding up as well as in the past. I would say that everyone one of the sponges I have used in the past two months has lasted no more than a week. By that I mean that the covering begins to shred within several days use. I used to be able to use them for several weeks at a time. This is quite disappointing because I really loved this product compared to regular sponges that quickly became smelly and were generally ineffective compared to the Dobie. I am sad to say that I have to look for a comparable alternative because the Dobie is not worth the expense anymore.

Built in Obsolescence ?

I’ve been buying Dobie cleaning pads for over ten years. Recently, I’ve noticed the mesh is breaking down after days of use rather than weeks.
It seems the quality has diminished. Can you recommend a replacement product?

Down the drain

As a 20+yrs user of this product, the quality of this product has drastically been reduced. I used to get well over a months use out of this pad doing three meal times dishes cookware and such. Now I am single doing one person's meals worth twice a day. And within two weeks the pad is worn out! This is great for sales. But lousy for the individual. You used to have a great product. What happened?

Not My Dobie Pad

In 1971 I went to work for the Purex Corp., the manufacturer for Dobie Pads and was there for ten years. Do for nearly fifty years I have been a loyal user of what once was an amazing product. They are all over my house and used in more way than I can count. SO WHAT HAPPENED? Over the years the product has changed hands and I’m not sure how long 3M has owned it, but the product IS NOT the same. It falls apart but never did... is this a move to increase sales or did you just screw it up by accident. If you want us to switch to the store brand... don’t fix it, but if you do, find out where it went wrong. I’m pretty sure I know the product well and I’m disappointed.

I have been using this product for years and loved it. However, recently the pad quickly turns black! I don't know what change was made in the manufacturing process, but it is not a one, two or even three time occurance. Unfortunately, I will not be buying any more.

Why did you change a great product?

I've been washing my dishes with Dobie for maybe half a century. My late mother also used them. The inner sponge was a pale yellow, and the outer covering seemed to be uncolored. Suddenly the company has decided to dye the whole thing a more intense yellow color that makes me think toxic dye may leach onto my dishes and contaminate them. Unless/until they go back to the old design, I'm looking for an alternative.
