For some reason manufacturers have made floor mats smaller than they used to - not giving you much room to roll around. On thicker carpeting this becomes a big issue. This mat is a little wider and longer so there is more room to move the chair and while not perfect it is thicker and the chair wheels don't create deep ruts into the carpet as much as a couple of other brands I recently tried. I will stick with this one and hope if holds up for a few years!

I love the idea of the chair mat. However the mat itself is very soft so the chair rollers sink into the mat and it’s tough to roll on the mat. The mat also shifts and doesn’t stay put on the carpet. It’s possible the carpet pile is a tad high.
