I ordered two boxes of these envelopes. The first box I went through had a wee bit of adhesive but I realized they weren't doing the job when my husband asked me why I was putting envelopes in the mail without sealing them. The second box had the same problem. As soon as I found out about this problem I used tape to seal them. I won't buy them again.
