It has numerous studs on the bottom but they're not spikes so the rug protector keeps moving and sliding even with me and my desk chair on it. I'm very disappointed. I do not recommend it.

I just replaced my office's outside area rug with very thin carpet squares. To my surprise even though they were thin the office chair did not roll well. It also was creating ripples in the squares. This took care of it and works great
