We bought this for our 11-year-old granddaughter for Christmas. She's an artist with a small "studio" in her bedroom. Not only does this allow her freedom of movement with her chair but it also keeps paint from the carpet in her room!

Chairs don't slide they sink and lock into place.

I bought this matt to allow a chair to slide on my wooden floor and not damage the wood floor. (The chair does not have wheels.) It does not work. The chair sinks into the plastic and is locked in place. A dissapointment. I will use it with a wheeled chair under a different desk. Sigh.

Looks nice but for my carpet it is too soft. My chair cannot roll on it. Take something stronger if you have the big carpet.
