The mat definitely stays in place but because the it's relatively thin and fairly flexible my desk chair still forms divots. The carpet we've got is semi-low pile but not very low so that probably doesn't help. I'm going to have to get a thicker mat.

Am I able to return the floor mat and purchase the wooden one? Chair doesn't roll because of deep divots caused almost immediately upon use.

Works fine. Was concerned if the thickness would be sufficient to support a rolling chair. It is a sturdy solid mat that works great for a rolling chair on a carpeted area. Would recommend and buy it again.

I wish it was more rigid. Instead of allowing chair rollers sinking in. Makes gliding more difficult. Why is such an inferior chair mat sold?
