This piece of plastic is so thin that my chair sinks into it on carpet and actually prevents me from moving forward and staying after a short time there's an indent that will prevent moving out of the indent nearly impossible. I guess you could use this on hard floors but why would you do that?

Staples 45" x 53'' Rectangle Chair Mat for Medium Pile Carpet. I rated this product 5 stars because I found it's made of excellent material that holds up fine rolling easily under my body weight of 230lbs leaving no roller indention's and ordering for medium pile not low pile is one of the reasons. The rectangle size was easy to install and the spike bottoms gripped just fine and kept it from sliding. It has an excellent look and appearance. Also Staples gave me an excellent buying incentive.
