I bought this chair mat bbecause it has a lifetime (limited) warranty. Before buying Staples Customer Service told me that the warranty DID include chipping and breaking due to normal wear & tear. I have had it for about 10 days and it is satisfactory now. The test will come in a few years to see if it holds up to regular use.

We are very happy with the quality of the chair mats. They save the carpet and tile flooring in the office and keep it looking like new.

I needed to replace my chair mat after moving my home office to a room with medium-pile carpet. I specifically searched Staples for a high-pile mat with larger gripping teeth because my old mat kept moving. This mat is rubber/plastic and is so thin that my chair wheels sink into it making it difficult to move the chair around. The mat's "gripper teeth" don't stop the mat from moving and shifting. I even placed the mat under my desk so its weight would help keep it in place but that was of little help. Don't buy this model - find something else.

high pile carpet chair mat

the mat came wrapped with the stickiest tape imaginable. I could not remove the residual glue from the tape even using paint thinner. the mat still allows the chair rollers to imbed into the mat. Not really happy with my purchase.
