Staples 45 x 53 Medium-Pile Carpet Chair Mat with Lip

I went from a smaller thinner cheap chair mat that I use on a medium pile carpet to this larger Staples Chair Mat. I had to trim the lip to fit the knee hole in my desk. Found out right away it's too thick to do with a pair of scissors. Had to use tin snips. I like the larger size so I'm not always rolling off of it. My chair wheels do leave an indentation but it seems to go away after I leave the chair. I have never had a chair mat on carpet that didn't sink in some. It does creep away from the desk every so often but I don't see that as a problem either. I just reposition it. Happy with this product !! When the delivery people came to deliver it I was on the back porch and didn't hear the doorbell so they left a note. I signed the note and checked the square for them to just leave it at the back door the following day. I heard the truck pull in the driver grabbed the note and left the chair mat half on my front porch and half in my flower bed. Guess he didn't bother to read anything on the slip. All in all I am happy !

It is working great but the big problem with chair mats is they crack over time especially those over carpet. This one is rated for high pile so I am hoping it will be better. Time will tell.

High pile carpet chair mat

While this mat would likely work well for a small person however being a big man the wheels of my chair get stuck in the mat.

Except when shipped from warehouse they used a tape to hold together in box and was very difficult to remove from the mat.

Delivery was right on schedule. The mat works out perfectly for the space where we needed it. Time will tell how it will hold up but it looks great. Very convenient to order on line.

Good value but has one flaw

This is my second chair mat from Staples the first one I had lasted about 6 years and finally developed large cracks/holes so I had to replace it. The good: This is a very good value for the quality. The thickness and size compares with mats that are $100+. In my experience you are always going to have some indentations because of the carpet and weight of the person and chair. However this is thick enough to handle and tolerate so you can still slide your chair easily if it has wheels. The Bad:The cleats on this are flat instead of the "pin" cleats. My pad moves on my carpet and have to adjust it every few days. My prior pad had pin cleats and didn't move the entire time I had it. Verdict: If you can handle adjusting the pad occasionally when it moves this is a good value and good chair mat.
