Horrible chemical odor

I bought two mats and then went to an appointment that lasted about an hour. When I got back to my car the strong chemical odor was overwhelming. I rolled down the windows but within five minutes I had a sinus headache. I tried one of the mats in our office hoping the smell would disappear but it did not so I returned both that evening. I work from home and there is no way I could have tolerated 8-10 hours/day on that mat - nor was I willing to risk the health of my family. I was surprised as we bought our original mat from Staples and had no problem.

This is a very nice chair mat. However I see what other's said about the chair wheels making divots causing the chair not to roll very well. Other than that it's a nice mat.

45 X 53 High Pile Chair mat

Needed a heavy duty chair mat because the one I had was cracking after only a year. Went to the store and told them what i needed. They had none in stock so I could not see or feel it. They said since it gets a lot of use every day this would be good. Delivery came. When I got home from work it had been tossed on my front porch. It was bent over from landing half on a porch chair and the deck railing. No tube or tape to keep it nice. JUst tossed. After a week of use it acts like my old one. Dents pretty fast where the chair legs sit. And between chair and person it is less than 200 Ibs. I give it a year at most.

Not as good as my previous mat.

This was a replacement for the worn out one I had also purchased at Staples. This new one seems a lot thinner. The wheels of my chair create dents that make maneuvering difficult. They are wide wheels and shouldn't be a problem. So I'm convinced this mat was made thinner or of a not so strong plastic. Don't like it much! But its too difficult to return.

Perfect Solution

I have a 7-caster cutting board topped cabinet for sewing/quilting lots of moving extension legs cabinet doors all on small caster wheels. Just wasn't working on the carpeting. This mat is the perfect size stays in place on our 1/4" wall to wall and allows the cabinet to now function properly. This is reasonably priced good design great solution.
