I usually need to replace chair mats every 2 years because even the heavy duty carpet mats tend to crack and break. This mat is softer (takes a bit of getting used to) and because it gives a little probably won't crack. Also easier to handle since it's pliable.. Very good value.

Pretty thick but...

I ordered this thickness in this size as a “special order”. It works well. Anything thinner would NOT have worked. We have a brand new high quality carpet with a premier 1/2 inch mat below it. Our office chair sinks down into the carpet but it’s not something I would critique the Staple’s mat over. Our office chair will roll around the mat adequately when someone’s sitting in it but it can be difficult. Otherwise the chair rolls around the mat perfectly. I’m satisfied.

Mat itself is constructed fine but it does not work at all with medium pile carpet - it moves around constantly. In addition the rollers on my chair created deep impressions in the mat. Disappointed.

I needed something to protect my carpet while I am on dialysis since "bleed outs" sometime occurs. This product does the job. It is easy to clean. I would definitely recommend it.

Medium Pile Carpet Chair Mat not what I expected

I gave 2 stars for the size being "OK"; works fine for me but my husband likes to roll more side-to-side and he rolls off frequently. My biggest complaint is that the mat scoots too freely. At least a couple of times a week I have to readjust it. I guess the teeth aren't long enough for what I thought was medium pile carpet.
