Thought I would be getting a rigid mat that was not bendable. This item could actually be rolled up and would not have worked or stayed in place on the carpet. Returned it to the store.

Horrible chairmat. Divits from chair after 1 hour of use and the divits stay. Hard to move chair around due to divits! I only weight 165 lbs. Not beveled around edge as advertised (false ad). Do not recommend ANY of the Staples brand chair mats!

It sits on our hardwood floor. It prevents further damage to said floor. It cuts relatively easy with a utility knife.

I have ceramic floors and I was hoping this would also reduce the noise as well as protect the floor and keep it clean (which it does quite well). But still too noisy. If I were to do this again I would start with an area rug of the same size and then instead of the hard mat get one for carpet. (But then that might be prone to sliding....)
