I shopped at Staples to purchase a box of #10 gummed envelopes and when I got to work with them I realized they were smaller than normal that's when I realized I purchased the #9 envelopes. So after adjusting my printer for that size envelope I was able to use them just as I originally planned. However they are shorter than the #10 and slightly harder to put the letter in the envelope they are equally as good as the #10 that I normally purchase. If you don't need the little extra length I'd recommend this envelope.

The Staples brand envelopes are 24# in weight but feel more like 20# so I would go light on the contents.

The power printers of the 21st century are laserjet printers. 'Gummed' envelopes are heat sensitive which means that after about three envelopes in a mail merge through a laserjet printer of any manufacture the envelopes will be sealed automatically by the printer. They will be correctly addressed but you won;t be able to add inserts to the envelope. And if you continue the laserjet printer will be jammed by the 'gummed' glue escaping the envelope and getting on the internal mechanisms of the printer.
