The adhesive is a thin strip that just does not seal securely. It is very easily opened after closing. If you want to make it secure you must tape it closed.

Newest production has an adhesive change and narrower release strip that is far inferior to the original. Much too tacky making it hard to peel the release strip off in one piece. Would not recommend any more.

the paper strip covering the sticky part (which is much thinner than it used to be) keeps ripping when trying to seal the envelope. very cheaply made

These are the greatest envelopes. So much better than licking or using a water bottle that leaks all over after it finally starts working.
