Tear-resistant Indeed!

These envelopes are the sturdiest envelopes I have used. They are perfect for mailing important documents or a check because of the privacy tint and durability. The 4 1/8 x 9 1/2 inch envelope is in fact tear resistant which I had some doubts about. I started by using my thumb and index finder to tear and nothing happened. I ended up using two hands and all my strength to rip the envelope and it still did not tear! The attached photo demonstrates all 4 sides attempted to be torn and is enclosed with a piece of paper with bold black lettering typed on it. The envelope also has a peel-and-stick tab on the back so no licking is required to seal.

These envelopes were just what I needed. Great quality. And I really love the sticky tape to seal the envelope shut. Would definitely recommend these envelopes to all my family and friends. Hurry and get yours now. Great for business and personal use.

Headline: Dr. Destructo Defeated by Staples Tear-Resistant #10 Envelopes

These envelopes survived my son so they can survive anything! We jokingly (and lovingly) call my 5-year-old son Dr. Destructo because he has an innate ability to take apart and destroy pretty much anything. Ahh but enter the Staples Tear-Resistant #10 Envelopes. Dr. Destructo has been defeated! Since these envelopes claim to resist moisture and tears and to be “security” envelopes when they arrived I gave a stack to my son and told him to try and rip them. No dice! He pulled and twisted and grimaced and he could NOT rip these envelopes. I tried to rip them and couldn’t. My husband tried to rip them and couldn’t. Envelope claim No 1 – tear resistant: Yes these envelopes deliver on that claim! Next I put Dr. Destructo to the task of sealing the envelopes and seeing how sticky the self-adhesive was. I’m often disappointed in self-stick envelopes because I feel like the adhesive is weak and I end up having to tape the envelopes shut. Not these puppies! The self-adhesive works great and the envelopes stay shut. No tape needed! Finally Dr. Destructo and I wrote on some paper and sealed it in the envelope. The security feature did a nice job of concealing the writing on the envelope. We also ran the envelope under water (yes we were determined to try and prove that these envelopes weren’t as good as claimed!). The paper on the inside of the envelope did not get wet. Envelope Claim No. 2 – moisture resistant. Check! I am 100% impressed with the Staples Tear-Resistant #10 Envelopes and certainly will keep them in stock in my house. They live up to the claims on the box and they certainly outperform any of the flimsy envelopes I currently have in my house. Well done Staples!

These legal sized envelopes are true to their claim. The are resistant to moisture and tear free. The self adhesive component is also a plus. I have had mail torn open and items stolen before so I would feel much more confident sending personal information in these envelopes. Great product!!
