My biggest shock was that the mat came to me completely with out any kind of package or covering. The address label was simply stuck on the mat and that is how the driver delivered it to my house. The driver said he had never seen such a lack of delivery packaging. The mat was not damaged but it seemed like an odd way to deliver a product that could scratch or crack. I liked that I was able to trim the chair mat with heavy duty scissors to make it fit around my desk. The mat finish looks nice and clean - not too dull and not too shiny. The problem is that my all oak desk chair has brass casters so any place the casters have rested on the mat there is a deep dent. The mat does protect the carpet but don't expect to push off from your desk with one foot and zoom to another location on this mat. It would make great anchorage during an earthquake because "you áren't going anywhere once your chair sinks into the mat.
I can't get it to stay in one spot. Have to move it every day back to the original location I want it to be in. even when I put it under my desks legs to try and hold it in place it still moves.
Product is ok. If you have thicker carpet/padding I would get something much thicker. The mat is pretty thin and chair wheels don't roll well when placed on thicker carpet/padding. Works great on commercial/thin carpet however.

Bought two arrived rolled up in boxes one with the nubs in and one with the nubs out. Took two of us to unroll them as they are VERY hard to unroll. Had to leave heavy boxes on them for two days to get them to lay mostly flat. Seems thicker than the previous ones I had which lasted about two years before the plastic started cracking.
