did not have in store so I opted to purchase and have delivered. well what a mistake. a two day delivery turned into four days with lots of apologies. the product is good the service is horrible
I was eager to recieve this item as I had just had new hardwood installed in my home office and I wanted to protect the floor. The item as described was perfect but I could not believe that Staples shipped it to me as pictured; i.e. no box no protection and it was delivered on one of the coldest days of the winter. I happened to see the delivery truck pull up and the poor delivery guy struggle with the unwielding mishapen stiff piece of plastic. He arrived at my front door as I opened it and he said "Thank Goodness you are home I had no idea how I could leave this item. It won't stand up." I brought it inside. It was frozen in a deflated U shape. There was no box and no plastic wrap or protection of any kind. There was an easy to remove label of directions stating the floor protector should be allowed to set for 24 hours indoors before using to allow it to lie flat. Forcing it flat would crack it. The directions also said to apply the mailing label within the dotted lines of the label for directions. However the mailing label was applied outside the dotted line and partially on the floor protector resulting in a difficult to remove label that left residue. Because the floor protector was not protected it was FILTHY dirty. The good news is the next day it was perfectly flat and after much effort and some elbow grease it was clean and allowed the beauty of the new hardwood to be seen. The product seems to be of high quality but the shipping method and condition upon arrival are terrible and very disappointing. When I checked my order online it indicated it would be arriving in a box but obviously if the directions say to apply the mailing label within the dotted lines it seems that there is no intention to box the item. Unfortunately this item could not be picked up in the store which was my preference.
This mat serves it's purpose. It was a little hard to unroll the way it was packaged rolled up. I was able to get it unrolled and laid it out for a couple of days to with a few weights to be able to put it on the floor under my desk chair. Now it is under my chair its fine and does the job. I have to be sure to move around my chair otherwise my chair will leave an indentation in the mat. It probably could stand to be a little thicker but otherwise it does the job.
Clear and smooth and wonderful but perhaps dangerous? Chairs roll easily on it... Maybe too easy? I'm considering fashioning a speed bump or two so my office manager doesn't have too much fun because work is for work. Would recommend for work not for play. And definitely not for using as a sled over fluffy white snow because you'd have to sit on it upside down and those pokey nubs would do a number on your hindquarters.
