This mat works great on my thick plush carpet. Chair rolls easily (with 180 lb person) no issues with dents as some people seem to have. The gripping surface on the bottom certainly keeps it in place. My only negative comment would be that it shipped with no protective packaging so had some black scuff marks on it though I was able to clean those off.

Unfortunately the product is failing as the mat under wheel pressure leaves a "divot" impression in the mat and makes it difficult to move the chair. The thickness to prevent this issue needs to be at least twice as think. not a good product.

The Mat was delivered so greasy and dirty and full of shoe marks that it took a half hour of cleaning so I could use it. A special handling fee was charged at time of purchase so I assumed it would be packaged so as to be clean and ready to use. I contacted Staples regarding this and never received a reply. After I got the mat clean enough to use it is servicing my purpose.
