I have used many other chair mats. The Staples Extra is by far the best. It is durable thick and looks very good. I am a big person and this mat enables me to roll around my office space with ease. I've seen the rest and I bought the best. It is worth it.

The product is fine and I should have maybe rated it higher. I hadn't purchased one of these before so mistakenly got a mat that was thinner than what I needed. I weigh about 225 and my chair is leaving good sized dents in the mat. I plan on getting a thicker one in the future.

I had a chair mat from Staples that had developed cracks after just about a year and a half. I had picked the last one based on the carpet depth as instructed. But it still cracked--so I decided i needed a thicker/stronger one. Should be easy right? Boy that was naive. The sheer number of chair mats available is staggering. So is the real lack of any real differentiating information. I finally picked one that was .185 thick hoping this was thicker than the last one. It certainly is more expensive. Delivery was quick. it was NOT rolled up which made installation super easy. The new style WITHOUT the super annoying pointy spikes is wonderful. Roll chair out on it and it sinks in just like the previous one. Disappointing is way too mild of a word. I fully expect to have to replace this in a year like the other one.
