This chair mat protects my rug from the constant back and forth motion of my chair wheels. I'm disappointed that the plastic mat forms dimples bending into the rug around the chair wheels. This causes the wheels to not move freely and at times keeps me stuck in one position. I would have preferred a thicker gauge of plastic.

After reading the reviews that described issues with chair wheels denting and digging into the mat I decided that it was worth a shot given the low price. I don't think the mat will last that long because it definitely dents but it still might have been a reasonable value.

I was surprised to receive my floor mat unpackaged with just a shipping label attached. Then I realized a "curl" would be a minor hassle. I used to sit and work at the computer I would find I had rolled back about a foot. I don't know the science behind this mat but my chair doesn't roll back with this mat. It's invisible on my oriental rug and doesn't shift around (there are nubs that are for that). Little gripper nubs that grab the carpet.
