I saw several reviews that said their mat was rolled up in a box. Ours was delivered flat with no box. It was only a little bent because the delivery person left it leaning on a wall and was easy to flatten it out again. It's worked great so far.

The mat surface doesn’t provide sufficient support for common chair rollers. The chair rollers deeply sink into the resulting dents on mat surface and prevent them from move freely. I have to say I am very disappointed with this Staples product.
