A thicker harder mat would keep my chair rollers from sinking leaving dents but it protects carpeting against spills and the cleats hold it in place.

being a heavier guy..have noticed dents in the chair mat after sitting for a while in the office chair. Has lots of fingers underneath so the mat doesnt move. Plenty of room to move around in the chair also. Maybe a thicker chair mat would help not to get those dents.

I had to replace the pad about every year They just don't hold up . The should be a little stiffer than what they are so they would last longer than 9 or10 months.
