I gave it a one star because it is easy to clean. Other than that for me it slides. I have thin carpet. Not the super thin carpet you see in movie theaters or business establishments but basic thin cheap carpet for the house. Having said that the mat moves and its hard to "roll" in. I find myself using my desk to push back and making the scooting movements that you make when your trying to get closer to a table in a regular chair. All the other reviewers mentioned being able to roll around but for me its no dice. What happens is that the rollers indent themselves into the mat causing it to cave inwards and settle in the spot. Unless your 90lbs this wont effect you but an average person just sitting for 5 minutes and you will have anchored yourself in that spot. I think this mat is best for hard surfaces that do not give way to weight of any kind. I think if I threw some thick cardboard underneath it I would get the hardwood effect and then maybe Ill roll.
Worked out just fine for our requirements. We just installed a new wood floor in home office with two desks and wheeling chairs. Has protected floor from wear and damage.
I bought this to replace another mat which after 10 years had cracked enough to be coming apart. But this one has the same sag where the wheels are and holds those sags even though it was designed for 3/8" berber carpet. I suspect it will fail quickly and until then I'll need to "work" to move my chair from wheel sag divot to wheel sag divot. But it does protect the carpet!
